JOB OPENING – Locksmith (Entry Level)- Des Moines


Walsh Door & Security is seeking a Locksmith to be a part of the team at our Des Moines location team. We specialize in
commercial doors, frames, hardware, cameras, and access control systems for projects throughout Iowa and the
surrounding states. If you have a desire to work for a 155+ year old Midwest-based company and enjoy working in a fast-

this opportunity is a full-time, added position with NO on-call time!


Job Description:
• Install and repair door locking hardware, high security locks and keys, door closers, and exit devices. Change
cores and keys for commercial and institutional applications, re-pin old and new locks for new keys.

• Design new keys systems. Keep paper and electronic records of building key codes and key shop operations.

This includes meeting with owners to identify keying needs.

• Develop customer relationships, sales, and build the Walsh Door & Security brand of service excellence.

• Position is generally 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday; however, must have ability to stay late when needed

to “finish the job.”
Job Requirements:
• Locksmith experience preferred, but not required. Lots of on-the-job training will be provided!

• Ability to work closely with project managers, contractors, and end users to provide solutions and prompt

service while coordinating schedules to maintain on time delivery of products and services.

• Ability to troubleshoot / problem solve mechanical door hardware problems independently in the field.

• Communicate effectively while working with a diverse customer base. Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy

when dealing with customers and/or suppliers.

• Must pass pre-employment physical fit test, drug screen, and security background check.
