Description & Details: The Indigenous Food Sovereignty Project Manager is a grant-funded position within the American Indian Public Health Resource Center at NDSU. This role is essential in advancing Indigenous food sovereignty initiatives among regional Indigenous communities. The position will focus on program development, recruitment, curriculum planning, and coordination of the Institute for Indigenous Food Sovereignty and Public Health. Continuation of this position is dependent on ongoing grant funding. Advertised Salary: Commensurate with experience. Minimum Education/Experience/License :
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Education, Nutrition, Environmental Science, Dietetics, Agriculture, or a related field.
2yrs or more work experience with tribal nations.Valid driver’s license
Preferred Education/Experience :
Master’s degree in Public Health, Education, Nutrition, Environmental Science, Dietetics, Agriculture, or a related field.
Specialized knowledge in Indigenous Food Sovereignty or Indigenous Agriculture.
Established relationships with tribal nations in the region
Experience working on food sovereignty or agricultural projects related to Indigenous communities.
Ability to manage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders including tribal colleges and universities.
Experience in project management, curriculum development, and recruitment activities.

Excellent written and oral communication skills for drafting reports, handling correspondence, and public relations.
Ability to effectively promote the program through various communication channels, including social media.
Strong presentation and public speaking skills for recruitment and promotion.
5. Research and Analytical Skills
Capability to conduct research on regional food sovereignty activities and apply insights to program development.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis for program reporting and improvement.
6. Adaptability and Problem-Solving
Ability to navigate complex issues related to public health, Indigenous sovereignty, and food systems.
Flexibility in responding to changing project needs and overcoming obstacles.
7. Leadership and Initiative
Ability to take initiative, lead program efforts, and act as a liaison between different stakeholders.
Experience in mentoring and guiding teams to achieve project goals.
8. Technical Proficiency
Competence in using technology for project coordination, including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Qualtrics, and Canva.
Experience in managing social media and other communication tools for outreach and recruitment.
Proficiency in using Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Qualtrics, Canva, and social media platforms.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Organizational and prioritization skills.
