The City of Overland Park has a Part-time Fire Cadet position available in the Fire Department Department. Responsibilities:
The fire cadet position is specially designed for the individuals to be immersed in a hands-on training environment geared towards fire and emergency services. Each Cadet will be assigned to the Logistics Division for work assignments, training opportunities, educational check-in's, and rotated throughout the fire department for various field and office assignments.
Requirements:
High school diploma.
Successful completion of regional Firefighter High School program preferred.
Enrollment in regional Fire Academy/Fire Science program preferred.
Must possess a valid driver's license prior to beginning employment with the City.
Firefighter I & II Certification preferred.
Must pass the psychological evaluation, drug screen, and physical.
No City residency requirement. Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, physical exam and essential functions test.
