POSITION SUMMARY Performs assigned cleaning in patient care and support areas of the hospital or other satellite facilities. As assigned, maintains facility hard surface floor, carpets and/or upholstery. Is directly responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment for patients, residents, staff and visitors. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions in order to perform all cleaning tasks that are required to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS Prolonged standing and walking. Frequently required to bend, stoop, stretch, twist and turn while performing manual tasks that require manual dexterity. Lifting 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Pushing and pulling 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Physical tolerance to cleaning agents and chemicals. Must be able to assess situations and prioritize workload demands while coping with stressful situations. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs daily and restorative cleaning tasks and functions in all patient care and support areas of hospital or satellite facilities.
Delivers clean linen as needed.
Replenishes floor stock and other housekeeping supplies as required in a cost effective manner.
Operates and maintains all cleaning equipment in a safe and competent manner.
Develops a working familiarity of all precautions, use and disposal methods of all chemicals used in the normal course of meeting job responsibilities.
Removes and replaces drapes and cubicle curtains as needed.
