HR Assistant - Temporary


QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: One-year previous Human Resource experience and/or equivalent education; Strong customer service skills, strong oral and written communication skills;

previous recordkeeping experience; proficient in MS Office suite, and data entry skills; Ability to organize and prioritize work; attention to detail and ability to be resourceful

essential to role.

Preferred: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR Certification, Associate Degree – in Business, HR or a related field; UKG or other HRIS experience.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Sedentary to medium physical demands. Excellent organizational skills. High stress, many interruptions; ability to communicate with all types of personalities. Ability to

work independently as well as with others. Must maintain strict confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Greets, screens, and provides assistance to Employees and the general public.


  • Answers telephones, screens calls and transfers calls accordingly.


  • Disseminates general HR and company information and assists employees with self-service activities.


  • Maintains electronic personnel files (i.e., scanning, filing, purging, copying etc.)


  • Actively participates in team meetings and records minutes for the meeting.


  • Completes and sends Verifications of Employment.


  • Opens office mail and routes to appropriate department


  • Arranges for office repairs to office equipment as needed, inventories, orders, and maintains office supplies and forms.


  • Have a working knowledge/understanding of employee benefits in order to have the ability to interface with employees and answer questions.


  • Assists with Orientation including orientation packets, communications, and ID badges.


  • Assists in administration of the Medical Center’s unemployment insurance program.


  • Prepares initial Family Medical Leave letters and leave packets for employees if needed outside of UKG.


  • Generates computer reports for personnel purposes.


  • Performs HR clerical and receptionist job functions.


  • Participates in professional activities to keep abreast of changes and new development in the field.


  • Enters and/or double checks data entry into HRIS.


  • Works closely with Payroll.


  • Completes HR audits.


  • Assists in drug screen process.


  • May assist with retirement, LTD, STD, Critical Illness, Accident, and Life insurance plans.


MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
