The Role Is This is a full-time on-site role for a Mid-Level Environmental Scientist at H3 Environmental in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves supporting clients in critical work related to management, characterization, and remediation of soil and air impacts at uranium fuel cycle and rare earth facilities. Our Expectations of the Environmental Scientist
Mentors staff and supervises execution of field projects and programs.
Proposes novel approaches and/or solutions to technical challenges as they arise.
Performs statistical interpretation.
Drafts work plans, data summary reports, and other deliverables.
May serve in a supervisory capacity in field and office settings.
Willing to travel to remote sites throughout the US for up to two weeks at a time.
Work hours dictated by clients’ needs – must be willing to work non-traditional schedule and paid overtime.
Skills and Experience You Bring
Field experience collecting soil, sediment, and/or air samples required; prior use of portable radiation survey instruments a bonus.
Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing.
Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.
Previous use of GIS (especially Esri) software products desired.
Proficient in any of the following tools: RESRAD, PRG Calculator, MILDOS, MCNP, R, Pro UCL, JMP, VSP, or other similar tools.
Working knowledge of EPA (CERCLA/NRDA), State, and/or NRC regulatory frameworks related to environmental remediation.
Current 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred.
