Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual. Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $34.25Fairbanks salary: $35.28Juneau salary: $35.96 What you will be doing: This professional Environmental Program Specialist 3 position within the Division of Spill Prevention and Response is part of the Contaminated Sites Program and manages a caseload of sites, working with responsible parties and their consultants to guide the parties through the regulatory process to site closure. Duties include regulatory oversight of the assessment and cleanup of contaminated sites, ensuring contamination does not pose a risk to human health or the environment, working with the public, maintaining information on program databases, participating in the development of technical guidance, and site inspections.Our organization, mission, and culture: The Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC's) mission is to conserve, improve, and protect Alaska's natural resources and environment to enhance the health, safety, economic, and social well-being of Alaskans.
