DSHS's Office of the Secretary (OOS), Human Resources Division is looking to hire a Lead Human Resource Consultant to our team!
You will support the Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center in Shoreline, WA and Rainier School (Residential Habilitation Center) in Buckley, WA.
As a lead member of the HR Operations team, you will provide comprehensive advice on policies, procedures, and laws pertaining to programs such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, Family Care Act and Fair Labor Standards Act.

Some of what you'll do
- Audit the work of junior team members.
- Assist in the management of employee performance by analyzing issues and providing strategic plans and tactical solutions to address matters.
- Consult with executives, managers, and supervisors in assigned programs for employee leave, and other areas.
- Develop and deliver tools and resources - including training for HR staff and agency managers to mitigate risk, promote effective/lawful workforce management practices, and foster healthy/productive supervisor/employee working relationships.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in performance management, employment laws, and policy.
- Approach problems with the philosophy of providing risk-based advice with options.
Who should apply
Those with a bachelor's degree (with a focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences, or related field) and two years of professional human resource work experience.

Equivalent education/experience.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Auditing of junior members.
- Consultation experience with business leaders to address issues appropriately to reach the best outcome.
- Prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines with constant interruptions.
