Director, NHL Event Operations

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

SUMMARY
Planning and execution of NHL events, meetings, and special projects throughout the NHL season in a fast-paced and team-oriented group. Position will have an emphasis on transportation operations and parking services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Operations and Logistics including but not limited to the following:
  • Transportation Operations
    • Traffic Management
    • Guest Shuttles
    • VIP Services
    • Parking Operations and Services
  • Vendor RFP’s and Management
  • Manage event budgets, apply strict financial controls and reconcile final settlements
  • Venue management
  • On-site operations
  • Other miscellaneous departmental-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
  • Industry professional with demonstrated experience in event/project management, planning and execution
  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in special events or related field with a focus on transportation operations and parking services
  • Strong competencies in planning, project management and organization
Preferred
  • Additional language(s) a plus
  • Familiarity with the sport of hockey a plus

  • Must be able to work well in a publicly visible, high pressure and deadline-oriented environments

  • Willing to travel and work long hours and weekends based around the NHL event schedule
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point required
  • A positive energetic attitude is a must
  • Must be motivated and exhibit good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to think rationally during events and other high-pressure situations

SALARY RANGE:
$110-130K
Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to: experience/training, market demands, and geographic location.
