Workday & Hours: (Full-Time 8:00am- 4:30pm)
Benefits Eligibility: Eligible (After 60 days of employment, Health - Dental - Vision - Life Insurance - EAP Program - Retirement APERS (Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System)
Vacation Eligibility after 6 months of employment (84 hours up to 3 years)
Sick hours available after 90 days of employment (112 hours up to 3 years)
Twelve Holidays a year + Employee Birthday (Thirteen total)
Job Summary:
Washington County Veterans Services mission is to honor and improve the quality of life for the veterans, survivors and dependents throughout Washington County by providing exemplary veteran advocacy, information and access to benefits earned. The incumbent under the general supervision of the Director of Veterans Services advises and assists veterans and dependents in preparing claims for disability compensation, death or injury, insurance, pensions, education benefits, rehabilitation training, medical care, burial, home loans, debts/waivers, and other claims which may be applicable under federal, state and local laws as well as acts as a general resource to guide veterans to receive benefits earned. The position is jointly administered by Washington County and the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs

Required Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre-employment and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
