Position Description

Pay Grade: Assistant 5

This position will serve as first point of contact for the College's administration building exhibiting excellent customer service skills

**Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.

Documents and ensures accurate records of all visitors electronically and via written log

Issues visitor parking passes and ID's, documenting the corresponding numbers in logs

Serves as a general security presence and visible deterrent

Reports suspicious activity and watches for criminal acts at or near the assigned post which may be a threat to the property, visitors, students or employees.

Reports any incident, accident or medical emergency immediately to the appropriate party

Contacts various departments within the administration building to verify appointments and assists the visitor with locating their destination

Answers questions regarding the College and direct individuals to various campus sites at main campus and various off site locations

Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to interact positively with diverse clientele

Excellent written, verbal and organization skills

Maintains a professional appearance at all times

Exhibits a friendly and professional demeanor, providing quality customer service at all times

Ability to handle emergency situations efficiently and effectively

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

5 years security related experience

Demonstrated experience working in a higher education environment
