Course Aide

Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned research and educational institution located on the North Shore of Long Island, is searching for candidates for several summer laboratory course aide positions. This is an excellent opportunity for college students majoring in biology. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a hardworking individual for the position of Course Aide.
Position Responsibilities

Assisting the instructor during summer courses
Maintaining inventory levels of chemicals and disposables
Cleaning glassware
Preparing solution and media for the lab
Perform general clerical duties as assigned by instructor
Performing other general tasks as needed by the instructor.

Position Requirements
Education: College student majoring in biology preferably a Junior or Senior.
Availability: Work a full-time (40 hours/week) from mid-May until mid-August. Occasional weekend work may be necessary for this position as well as the need for this person being able to work on the 4th of July.
Experience: Prior experience working in a laboratory environment.
Other requirements: Must have a clean, valid driver’s license; use of a personal vehicle required. Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays, including 4th of July necessary.

The hourly rate for this role is $17.50. he salary range or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
