Keylab is seeking an experienced classroom teacher with some basic knowledge of coding and music creation, and a love of video games to work with elementary school aged students from 2nd - 6th grade in a new Video Game Maker Club at our studio in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. The program begins in January 2025 and will run through June 21st 2025. There is no set curriculum, but the two main goals are to:
introduce students to the concept of video game creation using the GDevelop platform
assist children in all aspects of game creation, including game design and creating audio (music and sound effects)
Applicants should
have prior experience managing elementary school aged children in groups of up to 10 children
basic coding experience and/or the ability to learn the GDevelop platform
basic music production experience using Garageband, Soundtrap, or any other digital audio software
be professional in appearance
patient and supportive attitude towards students
be regularly available Fridays 3:30 - 5:30pm, and/or Saturdays 11am - 1pm
be certified to teach in the U.S.
be willing to submit info for a background check
