Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Promontory is currently operating three courses which include the Pete Dye Canyon Course, the Jack Nicklaus Painted Valley Signature course, and The Hills, a Forrest Richardson designed 18-hole par 3 course.

We are seeking a Assistant Superintendent to help oversee golf course maintenance operations on the Pete Dye Canyon Course. The individual will report to the Superintendent who oversees all maintenance practices of the golf course

Duties Include

Ensuring the playability of the course at the high standards set for a high end Pete Dye Signature course.
Conducting the morning job assignments and meetings.
Execute the daily and weekly schedules for the crew.
Work as a team with the golf professionals creating great synergy for tournaments, daily play, and general course conditions.
Assist with safety programs, training, and record keeping
Assist in the budgeting process and financial evaluations.
Conduct and oversee fertilizer and chemical applications.
Managing the irrigation and water conservation initiatives.
Must have a working knowledge of mower operations, utility carts, tractor, spreaders, and small equipment.
Coordinate with the Equipment Manager to repair, clean, paint, and refurbish equipment.
Winter work consists of snow removal and equipment maintenance projects.
Spanish speaking a plus
Must have 2 or 4 year degree in turf grass management along with 5 plus years in operations and supervision.
