**Job Title**: Project Assistant **Company**: United Trades of America **Location**: Huntsville, AL **Summary** United Trades of America is seeking a Project Assistant to support our Project Management team. This role involves managing project documentation, administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth project operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a background in project management support, preferably within the construction industry.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Project Documentation**: Recap and track Potential Change Orders (PCOs) and manage Request for Information (RFIs).
**Material Management**: Price material vouchers, update material flow sheets, and handle light material ordering.
**Payroll & Compliance**: Track certified payroll for United Trades of America and subcontractors, complete necessary forms such as HRC forms and OCIP Compliance.
**Scheduling & Billing**: Update project schedules using Microsoft Projects or Sure Track, handle monthly billing, including Schedule of Values and cover sheets.
**Log Management**: Create and maintain logs for subcontractors, change orders, submittals, and other project documentation.
**Vendor Interaction**: Obtain quotes from vendors and manage procurement tasks.
**Administrative Support**: Provide general administrative support as needed, including preparation of reports and documentation.
**Additional Duties**: Perform other duties as assigned to support the project team and ensure project success.
**Education & Experience**
**Education**: Associate's Degree in Business Management, Construction Management, or a related field (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
**Experience**: 1-2 years of experience in project management support, preferably in a construction environment. Relevant training or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
**Software Proficiency**: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with Microsoft Projects, Sure Track, Oracle, and Share Point is preferred.
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
**Construction Knowledge**: Ability to read blueprints, understand materials and pricing, and utilize project management procedures.
**Technical Skills**: Strong computer, filing, and 10-key skills. Proficiency in project scheduling software and general office applications.
**Organizational Skills**: Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up abilities with a keen attention to detail.
**Communication**: Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
**Problem-Solving**: Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing requirements, and work under time pressure with a positive attitude.
**Team Player**: Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working effectively within a team environment.
**Working Conditions**
**Environment**: Primarily indoor work with tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, typing, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
**Noise Level**: Typically low to medium.
