Description:
Job Summary: The Bookkeeper will record and maintain all Ground entity’s financial transactions and records including purchases, expenses, sales revenue, invoices, and payments. This position reports to VP Finance & Accounting. Duties/Responsibilities:
Record all financial transactions, including sales, invoices, expenses, and payments.
Update the general ledger and prepare trial balances.
Produce financial statements and other reports for managers and supervisors.
Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying receipts, and sending payments to the bank.
Maintain and file documents for tax compliance.
Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies in financial records.
Ensure legal requirements compliance.
May assist in running payroll.
Maintain accounting software systems and recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to learn essential accounting software, Quickbooks preferred but not required.
Familiarity with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools.
A general understanding of the main accounting principles, such as accruals and revenue.
Strong attention to detail and level of accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of spotting and resolving discrepancies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, preferred.
At least three years of related experience required.
