Additionally, we guide families every step of the way so that they feel a sense of security even during the most trying of times.
We are looking for a Backhoe Operator to join our team and operate a variety of heavy equipment and trucks used in cemetery operations, construction and maintenance, and to securely open and close plots for interment services.
Job Duties:

Operate trucks, tractors, and various heavy equipment, such as backhoes, dump trucks, hydraulic excavators, and skid steers
Open plots for interments and install liners; follow all procedures to ensure the correct plot is opened for interments
Support cemetery operations in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with heavy equipment such as a backhoe, road grader or front-end loader
Ensure interments are securely and carefully opened and closed
Check burial orders to identify any special circumstances (i.e., irrigation line, sectional liner, casket-only interment, etc.)
Install outer burial containers
Maintain and protects Pinelawn’s assets by performing a walkaround visual inspection of all assigned equipment prior to and after use
Inform the mechanic shop supervisor of equipment defects or the need for repair

Minimum Requirements:

Must possess a valid, unexpired Driver's License
Must have at least 2+ years of experience operating a backhoe and/or excavator
Must be able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, snow, cold, etc.
Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
Must be able to walk considerable distances during the course of the work-shift
Must be able to lift, rise and lower objects from one level to another
Must be able to pull, push, and carry large amounts of weight (50-100 lbs.) at any given time
