About Pinelawn Memorial Park & Arboretum Established in 1902, Pinelawn Memorial Park & Arboretum, is a place where families can find solace, somewhere that beauty surrounds them as they pay their respects to a loved one. At Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY, we take the utmost care and attention to detail so that families can feel at peace with their decision to lay a loved one to rest amongst the natural beauty found throughout the cemetery and memorial park. Additionally, we guide families every step of the way so that they feel a sense of security even during the most trying of times. We are looking for an experienced Land Surveyor, who can join our Maintenance and Funeral Service teams, and assist with all surveying tasks in preparation for construction and development projects, as well as funeral services. Responsibilities:
Perform surveying measurements, as required to prepare and maintain sketches and maps updated at all times, as well as to effectively determine plot locations throughout Pinelawn
Use GPS data to locate any underground utilities (water and electricity), trees, and any other relevant structures throughout all developed and underdeveloped areas of the cemetery
Assist with construction staking and layout surveys, including taking measurements of distances and angles, marking and delineating boundaries and reference points on any sections of Pinelawn’s property, as well as staking site-layout surveys, outlining the locations of structures proposed for construction.
Input collected data into AUTOCAD, as well as use AUTOCAD to extract relevant survey data for construction and plot marking purposes
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in revelant field (i.e. Civil Engineering, Survey Engineering)
5+ years of experience as a Surveyor, with working knowledge of AUTOCAD software and GPS technologies
Valid NYS Driver's License is a must
Strong math and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work under all weather conditions
