Summary: The Foreman will oversee and manage a crew with 1 to 2 crewman that assists in the safe removal of railroad track materials from active railroad track lines. This position may include, but not limited to the operation of welding equipment for cutting and cropping railroad track materials; the operation of a grapple boom truck to pick up and remove, load out, transport and other various duties that may be required for the safe removal and storage of railroad track materials from railroad track lines. · This job requires the safe operation of hi-rail vehicles and equipment with most work being performed on live and active main line railroad tracks. · Possess the ability to communicate effectively with management and other railroad employees through both written (email) and verbal communication. · Responsible for recording the production rail footage and time sheets for the Crew at the end of each day. · Clean and maintain work areas. · Work with information in print or on a computer or tablet · Work with machines, tools, vehicles, and equipment. Job Requirements:
A valid Class B CDL is required.
A minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience with manual transmission.
Medical Examiner Certificate.
Proven ability to skillfully operate a grapple truck with hi-rail gear.
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Previous railroad experience.
Knowledgeable in railroad operating rules and safety standards.
Applicants must be able to perform physical labor and operate heavy machinery.
Experience in the operations of a crane or leader is preferred.
Previous experience operating construction equipment.
Must have a dependable form of transportation.
Must be able to clear a background, pre-employment drug screen and have an acceptable motor vehicle report.
