- Proven track record of managing large teams and driving operational improvements, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Deep understanding of the truckload industry, including market dynamics, safety regulations, and operational best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and implement strategic initiatives.
- High level of proficiency in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technology.
- Leadership: Ability to inspire and lead large teams, foster collaboration, and drive organizational change.
- Operational Excellence: Strong focus on efficiency, process improvement, and service quality.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and building lasting relationships.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within truckload operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement a long-term strategy for the truckload division in alignment with company goals in areas such as Safety, Customer Service, Growth, and Profitability.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the truckload business.
- Oversee daily operations of the truckload division, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective dispatch, delivery, and management of freight.
- Implement best practices and technologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring that all operations comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, taking corrective action when necessary to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
- Ensure that customer satisfaction remains a top priority by delivering high-quality, on-time services and building strong relationships with key accounts.
- Act as a liaison between the truckload division and key customers to resolve issues and identify areas for service improvement.
- Develop and manage the budget for the truckload division, ensuring that all financial goals related to revenue, profitability, and cost management are met.
- Drive profitability through strategic pricing, cost control, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across various functions within the truckload division (operations, dispatch, orientation and customer service).
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture that aligns with the company's values.
- Identify opportunities for expanding truckload services, including new markets, customer segments, and service offerings.
- Drive business development initiatives by collaborating with the sales and marketing teams to enhance market presence and attract new clients.
