Cobra Fleet is looking for experienced Auto Painter Assistants to join our team as we open a brand new location. In this position, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers fleet look their best. You'll work closely with the lead painter, taking on more advanced preparation tasks and assisting in the painting process. You'll also support Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) efforts and handle minor auto body repairs. Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Vehicle Preparation: Perform detailed preparation tasks beyond basic sanding and masking, ensuring optimal surface conditions for flawless paint application.
Painting Assistance: Actively assist the lead painter during the painting process, including mixing paints, applying base coats and clear coats, and ensuring color accuracy.
PDR Support: Collaborate with PDR technicians, preparing surfaces and assisting in the dent removal process.
Minor Body Repairs: Conduct minor auto body repairs, such as blending and feather-edging repaired areas,ensuring seamless transitions and a professional finish.
Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets high standards, identifying and addressing any imperfections.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate painting equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in auto body repair and painting, demonstrating proficiency beyond basic prepping tasks.
PDR Knowledge: Familiarity with Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) techniques is a plus.
Technical Skills: Ability to use specialized painting equipment and tools, including spray guns, buffers, and polishers.
