JOB DESCRIPTION DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Mineral Compliance POSITION :* Oil and Gas Auditor* HOURLY: DOE/DOQ SALARY: OPENING: October 21, 2024 CLOSING: November 21, 2024 SUPERVISION:* This position is under direct supervision of the Minerals Compliance Director/Manager. * GENERAL STATEMENT: Participate in O.J.T. in order to conduct audits following Governmental Auditing Standards which determines compliance of the Tribal Severance Tax Regulations, as well as Federal Regulations prescribed by the Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR.) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Auditor will be in charge of all oil and gas company reporting for Compliance Reviews and Audits.
Auditors participate in on-the-job training in order to perform audits following Governmental Auditing Standards which determines compliance of the Tribal Severance Tax Regulations, as well as Federal Regulations prescribed by the Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR.)
Auditor will be in charge of maintaining lease information
Auditor will receive other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Oil and Gas Revenue Accounting is desirable.
Combination of education and experience in accounting- at least 4 years of experience in accounting and/or equivalent combination of accounting experience, college- level education and training that provided professional accounting knowledge, and at least one of the following:
24 college level semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality
A certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through a written exam
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Successful applicant must submit to a criminal history background check conducted by the Department of Interior.
Applicant must be dependable and demonstrate high moral character and personal responsibility.
Successful candidate is required to obtain and maintain CPE (Continuing Professional Education).
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a degree in a related field that includes 24 semester hours in accounting from an accredited college or university.
