Job Summary:
The Office of Medical Education (OME) with the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine (SOM) is searching for Alpine Curriculum Trail Director – One Health based in the CUSOM Branch campus in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Trail co-Director(s) for the University of Colorado School of Medicine is responsible for working with faculty, course directors, departments, Curriculum Deans, and other SOM personnel to create and implement Trail curriculum and to ensure the achievement of Trail outcomes.
The Trail portion of the Trek medical student curriculum consists of 8+ weeks of curriculum content for students during their last two years of medical school. Each student will match into one of the Trails (One Health, medical education, health systems and leadership, bioethics and humanities, or research), focused on the specific Trail topic. Students in each Trail will form a learning cohort and will complete curricular elements common to their Trail and select other elements from a menu of electives to meet their requirements. The goal of each Trail is to enhance a student’s ability to positively transform the health of the community beyond their direct clinical practice. Each Trail Director will be responsible for a cohort of MS3s and MS4s in their Trail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise SOM faculty who teach within the Trails. Responsibilities include assigning work, faculty development, evaluation and feedback, as well as addressing issues and improving faculty performance.
- Collaborate with SOM support staff for effective communication and delivery of curricular and assessment materials in a timely manner.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Trail with a focus on development, implementation, and assessment of Trail goals and session-specific objectives
- Effective Trail execution including content, scheduling, assessment, grading, organization
- Ensure syllabi, course materials, schedules, small group rosters (if applicable), and other content are of high quality and reflect the educational objectives and content being delivered.
- With the assistance of the OME Office of Evaluation, Assessment and Research, evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum in achieving learning outcomes.
- Serve as a resource and communicate in a timely manner with students, administrative staff, and faculty.
- Promote student success through early identification and referral/offering of additional supports as needed
- Ensure adherence to shared policies as developed by the curriculum committees and UME leadership.
- Actively engage in continuous quality improvement based on feedback, changing LCME requirements, and as charged by curriculum oversight bodies.
- Attend meetings with SOM leadership as needed and as required.
- As the Trail curriculum develops, the Trail Director(s) will need to adapt, and address needs as they arise.
Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule with select days per week on campus and as needed for in-person sessions/meetings. The position on-site location will be in Fort Collins, CO.

- Graduate level degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MPH, etc.) or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education

Sr. Instructor:
- Graduate level degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MPH, etc.) or equivalent with a concentration in healthcare and education

Assistant Professor:
