Nature of Work:
The Digital Media and Marketing Program Director is responsible for raising awareness among key external audiences about the services and programs offered by COAHEC. This position will create high-quality content that targets current and prospective healthcare professionals, learners, and community members in rural and other underserved areas of Colorado to participate in COHEC services and programs. This Program Director will further market the programs and events produced by COAHEC to these same parties.
In collaboration with the COAHEC Director, this position will be responsible for creating and managing a robust media content calendar for COAHEC, developing and executing a strategic marketing and digital content plan for COAHEC, and ensuring a ubiquitous marketing presence electronically and beyond. Media content will include but not be limited to websites, photography, videos, live events, social media, and podcasts.
This position requires expertise in producing digital and video content, which includes developing and implementing strategies, solutions, and tactics that advance COAHEC’s reputational and participation goals. In this role, the person will lead pre-production tasks including concept development, storyboarding, and script writing, as well as location scouting, planning, and scheduling shoots and talent, managing photo and video shoots, conducting interviews, determining design composition, and designing audio and visual flow to tell an engaging story.
This position must be able to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the COAHEC team. The individual in this role needs to be able to think about various audiences, accessibility, inclusivity, and representation to ensure that content is appropriate and relevant. The position must be available to attend occasional evening and weekend events to capture video content as needed.
Other responsibilities for this role include video editing, digital asset management, and assessing video analytics for effectiveness and engagement. The Digital Media & Marketing Program Director ensures that all content is professional, compelling, accurate, audience-appropriate, and conforms to university branding and style guidelines. This position requires excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills, as well as comfort in working with executives. It requires being able to create modalities to market COAHEC for medically underserved populations and those experiencing social determinants of health that negatively impact them as well as learners and instructors at all levels of health education.

Duties (100%):
- Works with the COAHEC team to bring media content initiatives and creative items from conception to completion.
- Develops creative concepts, processes, and strategies for media, marketing, and specifications, working closely with the COAHEC Executive Director and staff.
- Develops and delivers media content in multiple form factors – videos, podcasts, live events, etc. – that address COAHEC’s marketing needs.
- Ensures all content is of high quality and aligned with the mission and vision of COAHEC and the grant deliverables of its funders and up to COAHEC’s brand standards.
- Scouts locations, schedules shoots, coordinates with talent, and develops shot lists.
- Continually updates website, video collections, and COAHEC staff. Recommend upgrades for equipment and software.
- Build and maintain COAHEC’s digital and video equipment and software.
- Other duties as assigned including supporting COAHEC Staff in programming and event delivery.
Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of professional marketing or communications experience, which included media management and production, video production, and website management.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Conditions of Employment:
- Must be willing and able to attend occasional evening and weekend events to capture video content.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience within the University of Colorado and/or experience in marketing and communications for an academic medical institution.
- At least 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in the field of marketing and communications.
- At least 7 years of experience in video production focused on productions for recruitment, education, and training.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $89,508 to $100,000.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
