GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position works under direct supervision of the Human Resource Benefit Specialist. Performs routine human resource management and related tasks. Work includes receptionist activity for administrative building, managing the front desk area, receiving visitors, answering, and distributing phone calls, also, collecting proof of education, resumes, licensing credentials, background clearances, and maintaining current documents, some data entry and training documentation. Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing systems, and general administrative support work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Obtains, coordinates, and maintains HR information. May perform related work as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED, plus two (2) years of work experience in a field related to the duties of the position.
- Each year (30 semester hours) of accredited college work in a related field may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish.
- Prior work experience in a human resources department.
- Work experience with computers using Microsoft Suite.
- Work experience using HRIS and training documentation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work independently or organize work efficiently and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain pleasant yet professional demeanor consistently.
- Knowledge of business terminology, office practices and procedures, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and math.
- Skill in the use of automated office equipment and Microsoft software.
- Ability to maintain clerical records, prepare reports, to compose letters, while maintaining private confidential information.
- Ability to type at a speed to complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Must have ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in a stressful environment.
