Overview
We are seeking an experienced detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This role requires a solid understanding of GAAP for nonprofit organizations, regulatory filings, and preferred experience with Paycor and Blackbaud. The Accounting Associate will also assist with some HR duties, including payroll processing. The position will report to the CFO, and plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization's financial health and ensuring accurate, timely financial operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll
Responsible for all aspects of staff and client payroll
Non-Benefit PR deductions
Mileage Reimbursements
Cell Phone Reimbursements
Garnishments and Child Support Orders
401k Deposits
Final QA for staff timecards
Final QA client payroll processing
Final QA New Hire and Status Change data prior to payroll processing
QA Paycor PTO and Sick Accrual calculations
QA of Direct Deposit changes/updates
Primary Paycor contact for processing issues
Monthly Processes: Dept Children/Families report of wages General Journal entry preparation and data entry Reconcile assigned GL balance accounts Quarterly: Confirm Paycor Quarterly Payroll reports and work with Paycor to correct any errors DOL Multi-Worksite Payroll Report Sales Tax Report Annually: W-2 processing Audit Preparation Other Duties: Census Reports Employment verifications Check timecard: Non-Benefit PR Deductions QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Candidate needs at least an Associate's Degree in accounting, with experience (a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred.) Needs to be proficient in all aspects of the daily accounting functions, with high proficiency in Payroll processes. Attention to detail, multi-tasking and ability to meet strict deadlines is a must.
Experience: Required
Physical: Must be able to bend, crawl, stoop, and walk. Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS: 1) Must be 18 years of age or older. You must have reading writing and accounting/math skills at an acceptable level. 2)Maintain a current and valid driver's license of the state of residence and be determined as an "insurable." 3) No records of convictions, administrative findings or history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children or adults unable to protect their own interest , and conviction of other crimes, including, but not limited to crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against property, violation of personal rights, public safety, public morals, or any crimes that would be classified as a felony or deemed unacceptable for employment with CLASS LTD. 4)Must be able to work with male and female clients 5) Ability to communicate effectively with others. 6) Work as an effective team member. 7) Comply with CLASS LTD policies, procedures, and instructions.
