We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to join our team as an Accounting & HR Specialist to manage financial and human resource operations.
Position Overview: The Accounting & HR Specialist will handle key financial and administrative functions, including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and reporting, as well as human resource tasks like recruiting, onboarding, and managing employee and subcontractor records. This dual role is essential to maintaining smooth business operations and supporting our growing team. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Maintain and reconcile financial records in Quick Books Online Advanced.
Generate and analyze financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Track project finances, including customer balances and project start/end dates.
Monitor expenses and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
HR Responsibilities
Recruit and onboard new employees and subcontractors, ensuring all documentation is completed and compliant.
Create and post job listings on relevant platforms.
Conduct initial screenings, coordinate interviews, and assist hiring managers in the selection process.
Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for employees and subcontractors.
Maintain accurate and organized personnel and subcontractor files, including contracts and insurance verification.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety policies, and company standards.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (Quick Books Online Advanced experience required).
2+ years of HR experience, including recruiting and onboarding.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and HR compliance.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and recruiting/job board platforms.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the construction industry or with subcontractor management.
Familiarity with insurance claim processes and project management tools like Accu Lynx.
Knowledge of employment and subcontractor compliance in North and South Carolina.
