Job Purpose
As the administrator in the Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions team in the undergraduate office, you will work with the SMRA manager, to attract and retain a diverse range of applicants to the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine’s undergraduate programmes.
You will play a role in the implementation and delivery of the School’s strategies, policies, and objectives in this area. Your focus will be the School’s veterinary programmes (the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and the MSci/BSc (Hons)/BSc Veterinary Biosciences), ensuring targets and service levels are met for both international and national recruitment.
As part of the Undergraduate school office, you will work in partnership with the student experience team and the programme and course delivery team.
You may also be asked to contribute to related activities managed by the University’s External Relations department and College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences for the School’s life sciences programmes (currently the MSci/BSc (Hons)/BSc Marine and Freshwater Biology and the MSci/BSc (Hons)/BSc Zoology).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support the RMA Manager in the organisation and delivery of an extensive schedule of external recruitment and marketing activity nationally and internationally to diversify the UG student recruitment pool, eg open days, recruitment fairs, alumni events, visits to individual schools/colleges and other events/meetings.
2. Contribute to the development of the School’s undergraduate marketing/promotional resources (online and physical) with input from School, College and University specialists in this area.
3. Organise the admissions process for the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and the MSci/BSc (Hons)/BSc Veterinary Biosciences including an extensive programme of national and international interviews for the BVMS and all associated activities; processing and reviewing applications, communicating with applicants, coordinating interviews and other tests, liaising with panel members and student ambassadors, processing offers and updating databases.
4. Oversee and contribute to the processing of documentation for successful international applicants including immigration and financial requirements.
5. Ensure that students from partner institutions are transferred in line with established agreements, and results are reported to partner institutions when appropriate and in line with relevant data protection legislation.
6. Liaise with the student experience team to transfer successful applicant details to allow efficient registration on the programme of study.
7. Undertake committee servicing work which includes drafting and circulating papers to the Recruitment and Admissions Executive Committee and ensuring that actions are followed through.
8. Collect and analyse data for School management and the Recruitment and Admissions Executive Committee.
9. Contribute to the refinement of existing procedures and processes to ensure they are effective and efficient and enhance the applicant experience appropriate.
10. Deputise for the Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Manager as required, particularly when they out of the University on international visits.
11. Ensure that the University Values and equality, diversity and inclusion principles underpin all activities in the sphere of responsibility of the role and in interactions with others.
12. Undertake any other relevant duties as required by the Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Manager, UG School Manager & Head of Professional Services.

Essential
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 (Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4 Higher National Diploma) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Knowledge of higher education with reference to national and international student recruitment, marketing and admissions.
A3 An understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion principles (including UK Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics) in the context of student recruitment, marketing and admissions.
Desirable
B1 An understanding of the university policies and procedures with regard to branding, marketing, recruitment and admissions.
B2 Knowledge of School of Biodiversity One Health and Veterinary Medicine’s Undergraduate programmes.
B2. Knowledge of relevant international education systems.

E1 Significant and relevant administrative experience, with evidence of progression and development gained through relevant work experience in a busy office environment.
E2 Demonstrable experience of working with a variety of stakeholders and building effective relationships.
E3 Ability to clerk meetings, including preparation of papers, note taking and communication of actions.
Desirable:
F1 Experience of administration in a Higher Education setting.
F2 Experience in an admissions/selection environment.
Terms and Conditions
Salary will be Grade 6, £33,232 - £36,924 per annum.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended (permanent). Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
