The School of Arts, English and Languages seeks to appoint a temporary Lecturer in the Modernist Literatures in English. The successful applicant will have a strong track record of publication in modernist literatures and undertake research in line with the School’s research strategy. You will teach two stage-two and stage-three modules Anglo-American modernism, contribute to the teaching in English at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and contribute to School administration and outreach activities.
About the person:
The successful candidate must have/be able to demonstrate:
- Have, or be about to obtain a Ph D in modernist literature.
- A record of recent publication of internationally excellent research in modernist literature appropriate to career stage.
- Relevant teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Ability to contribute to broader management and administrative processes.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Effective interpersonal skills to liaise with students and colleagues.
- Ability to encourage commitment to learn in others.
- Ability to assess and organise resources.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
