Insulation Installer
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Insulator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insulation installation and maintenance, with the ability to work effectively with various materials and tools. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards. As an Insulator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring energy efficiency and comfort in residential and commercial buildings.
Responsibilities
- Install insulation materials in walls, ceilings, floors, and roofs to enhance energy efficiency.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and fit insulation materials.
- Fabricate insulation systems according to specifications and building codes.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure proper installation of insulation.
- Conduct inspections of insulation installations for quality assurance.
- Perform repairs or replacements of damaged insulation as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in the welding of metal components as required for certain insulation applications.
- Engage in plastering tasks where necessary for finishing purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Insulator or in a related field such as carpentry or masonry.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous for working around wiring during installations.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials when required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to work at heights on roofs or scaffolding safely.
- A valid driver's licence is preferred for travel between job sites.
