Description
We are seeking self-motivated and experienced fabricators to fabricate a range of pipe arrangements to support our team of skilled welders. As a fabricator the successful candidates will be required to be on site each day within the fabrication/welding facility, fabricating pipe arrangements from our shop drawings.
The ability to produce some or all types of welds, i.e., TIG, MMA and MAG for assembly purposes would be required with the opportunity for the successful candidates to develop their skills to numerous welding disciplines and in house welding procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Take direction from Site Supervisor on work requirements.
- Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
- Fabricate pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless steel pipe ranging from 65mm – 500mm) from shop drawings.
- Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
- Liaise regularly with Quality Control regarding any defects and any non-conformances.
- Complete Cross Training in various welding activities, so cover can be provided when absences occur in the Welding Department.
- Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
- Ensuring allocated work progresses in a timely manner and in accordance with workload and specifications.
- To operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment
- Use precision measurement instruments.
- Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment
- Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
- Set an example to all personnel when on site.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years’ operating as an established experienced fabricator, that includes Pipe Fabrication.
- The ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
- Able to use Shop floor hand tools like Grinders, Hand Plasmas etc.
- Previous Experience working a Backshift.
- Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings
- Organized and structured approach to your work.
- Good attendance and timekeeping record.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, whilst maintaining a high level of productivity.
- To undertake training in line with company standards.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements with either TIG/MAG and able to use MMA.
- Previous experience within a heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork or welding environment
