We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.
Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking to employ a Backshift Welder to support our current fabrication team, in our fabrication facility in Scarva. This post is a permanent contract and offers an amazing opportunity for a candidate who wants to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company.
Experience
The Welder will be experienced in TIG/MIG, MAG or MMA welding configurations, and will support our team of skilled Fabricators and Welders. The Welder will be required to be on site daily within the Fabrication/Welding Facility. The Welder will utilise various methods of welding, and will be expected to produce TIG, MMA or MAG welds to a high standard.
As part of this role, you will be required to be onsite each day to Weld and ensure all works are carried out in a timely manner and in line with our HSE&QA procedures.

Responsible to | Backshift Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Take direction from Site Supervisor on work requirements.
- Read and fully understand the pipe fabrication drawings for each project.
- Weld pipe sets for various pipe diameters (typically carbon steel & stainless steel pipe ranging from 65mm – 500mm) from shop drawings.
- Ensure company welding procedures are adhered to and pipe preparation and fit up is carried out to the correct standard.
- Liaise regularly with Quality Control regarding any defects and any non-conformances.
- Complete Cross Training in various welding activities, so cover can be provided when absences occur in the Welding Department.
- Ensure Company H&S Processes followed.
- Ensuring allocated work progresses in a timely manner and in accordance with workload and specifications.
- To operate MIG/TIG or MMA welding equipment
- Use precision measurement instruments.
- Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment
- Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
- Clean tools, equipment, and work areas
- Set an example to all personnel when on site.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years’ operating as an established experienced welder, that includes Pipe.
- Previous experience on a Backshift.
- The ability to interpret welding procedure requirements.
- Able to use Shop floor hand tools like Grinders, Hand Plasmas etc.
- Confident in understanding shop fabrication and assembly drawings
- Organized and structured approach to your work.
- Good attendance and timekeeping record.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, whilst maintaining a high level of productivity.
- To undertake training in line with company standards.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a pipe welder, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements with either TIG/MAG and able to use MMA.
- Previous experience within a heavy fabrication, architectural steelwork or welding environment
