Job description
Due to a career break, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Research team within our Operations and Planning section of the Directorate.
We seek to recruit a part-time temporary Assistant Researcher to support the Research Officer to advance the University’s development plans through the provision of in-depth research of potential donors and alumni to priority projects as appropriate.
The part time working hours are 18.5 hours per week, with a working pattern to be mutually agreed.
About the person:
The successful candidate will require:
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at Grades A-C including English Language.
- A minimum of 1 year’s recent relevant experience (within the last 5 years) of working in a research role.
- Experience of conducting desk research, and experience of compiling reports detailing research findings in a clear and concise manner as well as in a specified timescale.
- Experience in the use of online resources and an awareness of the different search techniques e.g Boolean search.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
