PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Our customer is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe.
IT is in the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.
Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo and Frankfurt, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Our customer has connections with more than a hundred different exchanges and liquidity centers. They need data from those exchanges to be able to provide their services to clients.
The complexity lies in the different nature of the connections & the variability of the volume (which is generally already quite high & event based).
Therefore, you will be part of the team that provides one of the most important functions of the entire clearing division. You will be supporting the team in their journey towards the use of AWS cloud native services like ECS.

Responsibilities:
- Develop the new trade connector applications on cloud native services like ECS
- Improve CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with developers on software requirements
- Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible
- React quickly to feedback to continuously improve processes
- Informally train and share your Dev Ops knowledge within the team
- Build a bridge to the cloud platform teams
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Java Dev Ops Engineer
- Experience with cloud native services on AWS (ECS is required, other services are appreciated)
- Experience with network connectivity and protocols (preferably in the AWS space, but also outside - mainly to cover the complex connections towards the outside world)
- Experience with automation of your deployments in AWS Code Commit and AWS Code Pipeline
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in always-availability services
NICE TO HAVE:
- A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects
- Experience with the setup and the configuration of CI/CD pipelines in a Microservices architecture landscape
- Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing) and a deep understanding of computer science
- Experience with creating Docker containers
- Awareness of critical concepts in Dev Ops and Agile principles
- Understanding of financial services and risk management in general
- Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation, eager to learn new technologies and tools
- University degree in Computer Science/Engineering

- Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills, great team member
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Desire to continuously learn and improve in a complex, rapidly evolving environment
