OUR PARTNER: Our partner, ABN AMRO Clearing, is a global leader in the domain of clearing, offering access to a wide range of listed instruments on markets across the globe. IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers. THE ROLE INVOLVES: Our partner’s Observability Platform block sits within the Platform Grid which is headed by the CTO and provides the strategic platform for monitoring, alerting, log collation and SOC capability for the entire company’s infrastructure and applications. Splunk is their main observability tool, but it is useful to know other monitoring technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana and Open Telemetry. The Observability Team is essential in providing the insight, both reactive and predictive, for our partner’s infrastructure and application landscape. You will manage a global Dev Ops team operating within the Agile Scrum methodology, focused on delivering a platform as automated as possible and ensuring its ease of use. The team is highly skilled, customer focused and driven to succeed in some very complex technologies.
We are seeking for an Observability Technical Product Owner with relevant skills, knowledge and experience, who thrives on complex challenges and enjoys helping customers achieve their goals.
They will own the Observability Technologies, leading the team to deliver compliant, reliable, and flexible global solutions that meet the business's demands and service levels, while ensuring optimal performance of the environments.
Responsibilities:
Line management of the engineers from the block
Manage the sprint cycles, backlog, task allocation and agile processes for the block
Own the products within the Observability remit, ensuring the applications fully comply with the company's control framework, as well as all bank policies and regulations
Build and maintain relationship with the vendors and fulfill the vendor management controls
Be responsible for the financial budget of the block
Work with client blocks and teams to ensure prioritized delivery of features for Observability
Provide strategy and direction for Observability within the organization
Work with Architecture, Security and IT Control to ensure the applications provide a well-controlled, secure, global solution
Be the Splunk expert for the team
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
3+ years working in a management capacity, preferably in the Observability area
5+ years working with Splunk to Architecture Level
Experience of working in a regulated environment with strict security and compliance controls
Experience in change and project management concepts, including Agile/Scrum
Strong organization and planning skills
Strong communication and stakeholders’ management skills
NICE TO HAVE:
Understanding of financial services and risk management in general
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in always-availability services
University degree in Computer Science/Engineering
SOFT SKILLS:
Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills
Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing), a deep understanding of computer science
