IT is at the heart of their organization with more than 30 different product teams and 10 different platform teams that are trying to build the best products & services for their customers.
Their presence in important financial centers like Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo Hong Kong, London, Sao Paulo, Frankfurt and Iasi, allows them to effectively serve clients worldwide and maintain close proximity to their diverse customer base.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Our partner is expanding across the globe, seeking various levels of experience for their Python chapter. Within the Python chapter, the engineers work on various Python projects across the globe.

Our partner is expanding across the globe, seeking various levels of experience for their Python chapter. Within the Python chapter, the engineers work on various Python projects across the globe.
This is the ideal opportunity to collaborate with a global leader in finance in its digital transformation.
Examples of projects currently undertaken:
- Creating a global instructing interface in AWS using multiple native services (like AWS Lambda)
- Upgrading and refactoring various Borrow, Lending & Treasury toolset from VM-based applications to container-based applications (for example into Red Hat Open Shift & AWS ECS)
- Green-fielding various applications and services across the globe to future proof target solutions on Red Hat Open Shift and AWS (ECS Fargate and other related services)
- Create the best possible environment for application teams to develop their Python code in.
- Support our application teams with the right environment to deploy their (python) containers and serverless code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like front-end developers and product managers to implement feature enhancements.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure the quality and functionality of the code produced by peers.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues promptly to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Test code rigorously and update existing test cases to ensure robustness.
- Document code, procedures, and project milestones to maintain organizational transparency.
- Assist in setting project milestones and meet deadlines.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
- 3+ years of experience with Python
- 3+ years of experience working with AWS from the perspective of Dev Ops Engineering
- Experience working with source control tools like GIT
- Relevant experience with setting-up containerization services for application teams, specifically ECS or EKS
- Experience with database management like Postgre SQL or Oracle
- Familiarity with (Confluent) Kafka
- Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker
NICE TO HAVE:
- Solid understanding of frameworks like Fast API or Flask
- Awareness of critical concepts in Dev Ops and Agile principles
- A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects
- Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation
- Understanding of financial services and risk management in general
- University degree in Computer Science/Engineering
SOFT SKILLS:
- Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong engineering instinct (do the right thing), a deep understanding of computer science
- Strong interpersonal and assertive communication skills, great team member
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Desire to continuously learn and improve in a complex, rapidly evolving environment
