Basic Qualifications for staff at WMF

• Participation in a WMF Servant Team, US Internship, International Internship, or Discovery Team
• Experience living cross-culturally and/or with other NGOs will be taken into consideration in lieu of prior participation with WMF
• 18 years of age or older
• Specific qualifications for each opening can be found in the position descriptions
• We also suggest time be spent (minimum of two weeks) with the WMF community where the open position is located before a final hiring decision is made

Vision
Word Made Flesh Romania prays and works for a better future for vulnerable children through personal development through partnering friends.
Position Summary
The Advocacy Coordinator will coordinate with the Partnership Coordinator, create and manage all forms of local and international advocacy for Word Made Flesh Romania.
Advocacy Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Field Director, the selected candidate will be responsible to:

• Understands and supports the vision and mission of Word Made Flesh Romania
• Tell the story of WMF Romania and create platforms where our vulnerable friends can be heard
• Identify and involve new partners
• Identify and implement plans for advocacy for the vulnerable in Romania
• Manage and increase presence on all social media
• Plan and execute at least 1 annual fundraiser
• Create promotional materials
• Monitor and expand our funding base
• Create and implement plan for donor care

Staff Development Plan
New Staff will spend approx. 20 hrs a week on:

• Community prayer
• Formation reading and discussion
• Language acquisition
• Intentional interaction and service among the vulnerable

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with social media
• Experience with fund-raising
• Motivated and responsible individual able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and creatively problem solve with a team
• Design and advocacy experience
• Able to multi-task and resume routine with multiple interruptions
• Commitment to building relationships with and investing in the WMF Romania staff community

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or
• demonstrated prior experience in related field

Terms and Conditions

• Worksite Location: Galati, Romania
• WMF International Staff commit to a 3-year contract of service
• Full-time: 40 hours a week
• This is a support-based position; staff commit to raising support for their salary and expenses
• Weekly Romanian language tutoring will be expected in order to fulfill responsibilities
