Safety Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
The Safety Officer is responsible for the implementation of occupational safety protocols and standards. Responsible for ensuring that occupational safety programs and initiatives are in place and maintained to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The Safety Officer is responsible for the implementation of occupational safety protocols and standards. Responsible for ensuring that occupational safety programs and initiatives are in place and maintained to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Leads and oversees the implementation of all occupational safety policies and programs in the assigned branch.
- Leads in the monitoring and surveillance of occupational and work-related injuries and illnesses, accident prevention and investigation, emergency response preparedness, work environment quality, chemical safety, fire prevention, and control.
- Creates and conducts trainings and seminars on occupational safety and health, basics of occupational safety, proper housekeeping for accident prevention, occupational safety in offices and work stations, emergency preparedness, and other occupational safety-related topics.
- Leads in conducting occupational safety audit and inspection in the assigned branch. Summarizes and analyzes findings and feedback from the audit and inspection, and provides recommendations on how to mitigate risks and resolve non-conformities.
- Leads in the processing of occupational safety-related documentary requirements, such as permits and licenses, to avoid fines and penalties. Coordinates with government agencies and local government units to process permits, licenses, and certifications.
- Leads in inspecting equipment and facilities and recommends improvement activities to control or prevent accident-related issues or concerns. Works closely with department heads in closely monitoring facilities operations, adherence to work standards, and implementation of preventive and corrective measures.
- Leads in the investigation of personnel and machine or equipment-related accidents.
- Consolidates occupational safety related reports on accidents, training and education, and issues and concerns in the assigned branch. Analyzes data and presents to management action plans to mitigate risks and resolve issues and concerns.
- Bachelor’s degree in any related course
- At least five (5) years of solid experience in a safety-related role.
- At least two (2) years of experience in related jobs in a supervisory capacity
- Preferably with BOSH, COSH, LCM certifications
- Expertise in occupational safety standards
- Knowledge in government regulations and compliance
- Knowledge in safety management audit
- Oral and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Negotiating skills
- Proficiency in computer operations, specifically MS Office
- Leadership and people management
- Candidate must be willing to work in Toril
Schedule:
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Davao City: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
