Job Title: Engineering Procurement Officer Industry: Oil & Gas Location: D-Line, Port Harcourt (Proximity to location is essential) Job Overview: The Engineering Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing and sorting engineering items for clients in the oil and gas sector. This role involves managing the procurement process, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality standards. The officer will work closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM) to align procurement efforts with client requirements and business objectives. Key Responsibilities:
Source, procure, and sort engineering items for oil and gas company clients, ensuring alignment with their project needs.
Collaborate closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM) to meet client expectations and support the company’s service goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure quality materials and negotiate favorable terms.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials, adhering to client schedules and industry standards.
Track and document procurement activities, providing detailed reports on costs, supplier performance, and order status.
Conduct market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and new suppliers within the oil and gas sector.
Maintain compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Key Qualifications & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically in the oil and gas industry.
Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, PMP) is required.
Familiarity with procurement software and processes tailored to oil and gas operations.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong client service skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects effectively.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Strong attention to detail, with an ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Analytical mindset for evaluating supplier performance and cost-effectiveness.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients.
Deep knowledge of procurement processes, particularly within the oil and gas industry.
