Job Title: Art and French Educator Location: Lagos Reports to: Head of Department Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Art and French Educator. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for both artistic and linguistic disciplines, fostering creativity and language skills in students across various levels. This role requires expertise in delivering high-quality, innovative lessons in Art and French, tailored to inspire and engage young learners in a dynamic, multicultural environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Curriculum Development & Lesson Planning - Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans for both Art and French that align with school standards and educational best practices. - Design a curriculum that integrates both subjects, allowing for interdisciplinary learning experiences when appropriate. - Continuously review and enhance curriculum to maintain relevance and interest, incorporating contemporary art and language learning methods. 2. Instructional Excellence - Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons in Art and French to students of varying skill levels. - Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and tools to support diverse learning styles and academic needs. - Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and language acquisition. 3. Student Assessment and Progress Tracking - Evaluate students’ progress and provide timely, constructive feedback. - Conduct regular assessments in both Art and French to measure and enhance student learning. - Prepare students for internal and external assessments, supporting their academic growth. 4. Classroom Management & Student Engagement - Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, discipline, and a love for learning. - Encourage active participation and engagement, fostering a growth mindset among students. - Address individual student needs and provide additional support as needed. 5. Collaboration & Professional Development - Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school events, exhibitions, and cultural activities to promote Art and French. - Attend faculty meetings and participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated on educational trends. - Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns. Qualifications and Skills: - Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Art, French, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree or teaching certification is an advantage. - Experience: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Art and French at the school level. - Language Skills: Proficient in French (written and spoken); native or near-native proficiency preferred. - Technical Skills: Familiarity with art techniques, tools, and digital teaching aids. - Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, creativity, adaptability, and a passion for teaching. - Other Requirements: Background in integrating technology in teaching, project-based learning, or hands-on arts and language activities.
