Spanish & French Language Teacher Reports to: Key Stage Coordinator, HOS JOB PURPOSE: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Teacher to join our international secondary school. As a Spanish & French Teacher in our school, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students from various cultural backgrounds. Our school uses the National Curriculum for England and Wales that promotes academic excellence. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: This is a dynamic role that requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to diverse teaching styles to create a stimulating learning environment. RELATIONSHIPS Selected by the Director of Schools in consultation with the HOS and Key Stage Coordinator. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: ● Teach according to the National Curriculum for England and Wales. ● Set clear learning objectives, assess student progress, and adjust teaching methods accordingly. ● Create and deliver engaging and interactive lessons plan that align with the school's curriculum guidelines ● Maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment. ● Assess and record student progress, preparing them for national tests. ● Support school policies and objectives, ensuring students’ safety and conflict resolution. ● Attend parent-teacher conferences and meetings, participating in school events. ● Uphold professional standards, engage in professional development, and contribute to school management. ● Design in-person instruction that is enriched (developing higher-order thinking skills) and personalized learning levels and interests of individual students ● Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of school ● Ensure health and safety measures are followed. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES ● Demonstrate professionalism and cultural inclusivity. ● Understand and adhere to school policies and guidelines. ● Prioritise safeguarding of children. ● Attend assemblies and actively assist in the supervision of pupils ● Promote good attendance and monitor in accordance with the School’s attendance policy. ● Be available for all parent-teacher conferences. ● Attend all relevant meetings, including planning and training meetings. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR ● Financial accountability and classroom resource management. ● Effective teaching methods engage all pupils. ● Timely communication with parents and posting test scores. ● Adherence to school policies, attendance at meetings, and contribution to school events. ● Curriculum planning, classroom management, and displays of student work. ● Completion and implementation of lesson plans and professional development activities. ● Positive attitude and interpersonal relations. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field with teaching certification. Additional certifications and 3 years of relevant experience preferred. British curriculum teaching experience is a MUST.
