The role of the Kāpiti Coast District Council is to lead and represent their community, and to enable democratic local decision-making to promote the social, economic, environmental and cultural wellbeing of the Kāpiti Coast.
We are seeking a Manager of Financial Planning and Performance to lead their dynamic team of Finance Business Partners. In this critical role, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis to ensure that the Council’s long-term financial health is robust and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Financial Planning & Performance team to deliver top tier budgeting, and forecasting.
Play a pivotal role in the long-term plan and annual plan processes, providing expert advice on financial strategies and outcomes.
Coordinate and deliver high-quality financial analysis and reporting to support key decision-makers across the Council.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, finding innovative ways to “do more with less” in a challenging financial environment.
Provide financial leadership on major initiatives, including the water reforms.
Work closely with the senior leadership team and partner with stakeholders across the organisation to improve financial outcomes.
Ideal Candidate:
CA, or equivalent qualification is preferred with at least 5 years’ experience.
Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting at a senior level.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a high-performing team.
Exceptional analytical skills, with the capacity to turn complex data into actionable insights.
Experience working in a Council environment is a plus but not essential
Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.
