Te āheinga The opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Duty Lifeguard to join our team. This role involves ensuring the safety of all patrons, supervising pool activities, and assisting with daily operations of the aquatic centre. You will be an integral part of our senior team, providing leadership to the Assistant Duty Lifeguard and Lifeguards and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
The role will require applicants to be available to work on a roster between the hours of 5.00am-7.30pm, this does also involve working 2 out of 3 weekends.
Tino takohanga Key responsibilities
Ensure health and safety is maintained through actively supervising all activities within the centre that meet industry standards and respond to any incidents and emergency situations.
Perform water chemical tests to ensure quality of the pool water.
Assist with the identification of maintenance requirements.
Leadership and mentoring to other lifeguards.
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako Essential skills and experience
Hold a current Comprehensive First Aid and a Pool Lifeguard Practicing certificate.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Hold a current Swimming Pool Water Treatment qualification is an advantage.
