Duty Manager - Four Square Wakefield

Four Square is an iconic Kiwi brand, providing for customers since 1924! With more than 230 stores across the country, we keep our customers stocked up with a range of groceries, locally sourced products, fresh produce, meat, chilled beer and wines, and a friendly smile!
About us: we are a small, passionate team with big heart dedicated to providing the best possible shopping experience to our customers. It is a privilege to operate the local grocery store in this fabulous semi-rural community. Wakefield is a 20-minute drive from Richmond, the nearest main centre just out of Nelson.
What we are looking for: a great leader, team player and someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment to join our team as Duty Manager.
About the role: main responsibilities include:

Customer service & satisfaction
Be physically able for heavy lifting and moving on feet for full shifts
Supervising the sale of alcohol, tobacco & lotto
Maintaining shop appearance and replenishment across all departments
Undertake necessary administrative functions of the role
Maintain Health & Safety and Food Safety standards

What you’ll bring:

A positive attitude, good humour and willingness to learn
An LCQ qualification and current Duty Manager Certificate
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail or supermarket environment.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A strong work ethic and the ability to cope well under pressure
Problem-solving skills, ability to work quickly and attention to detail.

Hours: Specific hours of this role will be discussed at the interview stage, it does require one weekend shift and closing the store. Flexibility with shifts essential.
