About the position Are you excited to define and lead the technology for the future to create our best ever Plant Butters & Spreads? The role is based in Wageningen, in our great Flora Food Group Food Science Centre. With State-of-the-Art pilotplants, labs and professional application kitchen, where innovations are designed and tested.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
You design the technology roadmap for plantbutters and spreads, to always stay ahead of competition and meet customer needs
You bring product and process design expertise, with a proven track record to design consumer and customer preferred products
You have strong relationships with the external world, to use the best technology expertise and land them in Flora Food Groups products
Next to design leader, you are Technical Project Leader. Whereby you relentlessly push the boundaries and make the impossible possible for the benefit of our consumer and customer.
Next to product design leader, you are also a hands-on person, to deliver the projects via pilot plant- and factory etc.
You work seamlessly with the international, cross functional teams to design and land together with the commercialization team, new technologies in the SC and in the market.
Key capabilities:
Maybe you have worked in a similar role for the past 7-10 years building an established network in the food industry.
You have excellent communication skills in a cross functional business setting and have a technical background.
Ideally you have experience in emulsion technology, oils & fats, or in the dairy industry.
You understand trends and needs of the butter market.
You have at minimum a Master's degree in Food Science, Chemical engineering, or any other related field.
You are more than ready to travel worldwide when needed.

You will own the technical lead for innovation, renovation and saving projects worldwide, with responsibility to deliver On Time In Full, with the right quality and cost.
You will define culinary requirements with the chef and test against those.
You will set up the relevant parts of product/technical specifications for sourcing and supply chain in line with quality, consumer safety and regulatory requirements.
Together with commercialization team, you will develop product benefits and claims for relevant projects including substantiation.
You have a team of technologists, to deliver the program together.
So, what does it take to be successful in this role?
You have a Masters degree (or equivalent experience with a Bachelor degree), preferably Foods Technology, chemical engineering or equivalent.
You have a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in international product development and/or processing in Retail or Food Service.
You have practical knowledge of dairy and/or plantbased food science and technology,
Fat-based and emulsion technology knowledge is considered a plus.
You have a proven track-record of innovation delivery, in Foods retail and or professional environment.
You have a proven track record of successful teamworking across geographies and cultures.
You have the ability to think strategically while working hands-on.
You have a self-steering, pro-active and can-do attitude.
You have ability to deal with multiple complex projects and tasks.
You have ability to work with other functions (e.g. Supply Chain, Regulatory, QA).
Fluent in English is a must.
