About the position
We're on the hunt for a dynamic and innovative Data Scientist to lead R&D projects. In this pivotal role, you'll leverage your analytical skills, data science skills and curiosity to unearth insights from complex data sets, driving the creation of next-generation plant-based products. With cutting-edge technology at your fingertips, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of food!
As part of our Digital & AI R&D team, you'll be immersed in a fast-paced, innovative environment where you will collaborate with a team of passionate scientists, engineers, and culinary experts to develop predictive models and conduct experimental analysis that informs product development and optimization. Your expertise in data science will not only uncover new possibilities within our product range but also spearhead our efforts in sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives. You will:
- Own the identification, development, testing, roll-out, and maintenance of R&D AI solutions.
- Partner with subject-matter experts in relevant R&D teams, including understanding and implementing the specific business goals.
- Collaborate with wider analytics and engineering teams to gather, manipulate and automate data pipelines used by models and the wider organisation.
- Assist in the implementation of new data processes where relevant.
- Become a subject-matter expert in R&D data and data processes.
- Spearhead industry-first AI projects and stay ahead of advances in AI technology and techniques for use across the organization, including outside R&D
You are a highly skilled data scientist with a degree in data science or a related technical or quantitative field, backed by over 3 years of professional experience, preferably within the FMCG industry with a focus on R&D as a MUST have. You possess expert-level proficiency in Python and are well-versed in Py Spark, with substantial experience in utilizing machine learning and AI libraries. Your strong SQL skills enable you to efficiently extract and manipulate data from internal databases. Additionally, you have exposure to Power BI or Microsoft Fabric, or similar BI tools, which enhances your ability to present data-driven insights. A self-motivated problem solver, you are also a clear and effective communicator, capable of engaging with all levels of an organization, including C-suite executives. Your strong organizational skills, combined with a commitment to quality and integrity, allow you to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environments.
