The Instructional Architect (IA) is a learning professional that develops technical training content used to train technical sales, service representatives, and customer learners on the design, operation, install, start-up, and service our new, large power products. The IA works closely with the regional pre-sales teams, service training groups, product Service Leads, and the Line of Business (LOB) to learn system requirements and any new or unique training needs and develop technical training content for their primary audience. Working together with internal teams, the IA is accountable to multiple stakeholders for project definition and the successful development of classroom course content that meets all defined needs of the learner. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform Needs Assessments to determine the technical training requirements for all new offers that require service by internal or external Service Representatives (SRs).
Work with key stakeholders including regional service training teams, service operations, customer care, and other internal SE academies to define scope of learning experiences, clarify learning outcomes, work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), estimate a timeline, and share the projected outcomes.
Collaborate with SMEs from R&D and regional service training teams from around the world during content creation and implementation phases.
Develop training content from source material that includes Draft and Final version technical manuals, program and R&D presentations, marketing materials, vendor materials, content from previous courses, and your hands-on exposure to the new products.
Deliver developed content as part of a train the trainer and knowledge transfer sessions.
Use our existing templates and best practices to develop classroom training content to train learners on our new three-phase power products. Training content typically addresses system familiarization, major internal components, and then all knowledge and skills required to install, start-up, and service these products over their lifespan. The primary products you will develop are PPTs for knowledge transfer in the classroom and lab activity sheets for hands-on skill practice in our training labs; these are then packaged into a Participant Guide for use and retention by the learner during their training course.
Whenever possible, audit Pilot Courses to redline materials, listen to learner questions that identify unmet training needs, and to evaluate the topic flow, lab activities, and course timeline. Then use these learnings to update and augment the course content as appropriate.
As appropriate, develop course material for alternate audiences using the core technical course content as a primary resource, and then augmented to address the knowledge and skill needs of the customer end-users, internal and external audiences (e.g., technical support, sales engineers, and service partners) to provide new product familiarization training.
Periodically tasked with special projects on an as needed basis.
