We are now looking for a Head of Business Development for our Packaging and Hygiene Solutions business unit.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in defining and driving the growth of our business. Your strategic insight and market expertise will enable you to identify key opportunities, address gaps, and strengthen our competitive edge. You will lead initiatives that accelerate business expansion and innovation, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of the industry for both current and future customers.

You can be based at our headquarters in Helsinki or near any of our local offices across the EMEA region.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Leading a high-performing business development team and establishing best-in-class processes to evaluate and prioritize opportunities.
• Defining solutions to build competitive advantage and close market gaps, while driving strategic planning to keep our products, services, and business models ahead.
• Developing and executing strategies for business expansion, partnerships, and market access.
• Conducting market analysis, monitoring trends, and leveraging data insights to shape offerings and identify actionable opportunities.
• Providing proactive input on M&A activities to align with business growth goals.
• Overseeing ideation, business case development, and ensuring alignment with business unit stakeholders.
• Collaborating closely with product management, sales, and industry partners to drive profitability and expand market reach.
• Driving product innovation and overseeing project execution through pre-commercial stages, while fueling the product development pipeline.
• Supporting pricing strategies and portfolio management to strengthen market position.
• Leveraging business development expertise to secure partnerships and collaborations that drive growth.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• 15+ years of experience in business development, commercial operations, or related fields.
• Proven ability to inspire and guide teams through challenging environments, fostering a culture of success and collaboration.
• Strong leadership in building, managing, and motivating cross-functional, complex teams.
• Deep expertise in business creation and development with a focus on commercial impact and growth.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver insightful analyses that drive strategic alignment and informed decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong understanding of sales and service within the chemical manufacturing landscape.
• Comprehensive market knowledge in paper chemicals to support strategic, data-driven decisions.
• Availability for international travel to effectively foster growth and collaboration within the global team.
