The Position
Accounts Payable Analyst
As an “Accounts Payable”, you will be based in San José, Costa Rica. You will be working at Roche Services Americas, one of the Roche Shared Services Centers worldwide providing Finance and procurement services to various countries in the Americas region. As the ideal candidate for this role, you have a degree or a career in progress in Finance areas (Accounting, Business Administration, etc.). In addition, you bring a minimum of 2/3 years of AP experience.
In this role, you will be reporting to AP Team Lead.
As an Analyst in our team, you will provide clients with in-depth insight into their payment process. This will require you to apply your extensive payment knowledge to show where and how to improve our process. You will often be working with clients with substantially different needs and levels of technical abilities and should be able to communicate with both effectively. Your experience and feedback will be key to building strong relations with differents teams and providing critical support in how we reach the goal expected.
Our ideal candidate is a dedicated team player with an entrepreneurial spirit who is self-motivated. Excellent communication skills are required, as you will work closely with different countries and departments.
The Role:
Working closely with Clients to increase the payment on time through the correct use of data and analytics.
Mine and analyze data to identify new improvements and opportunities
Research and document new data sources and features for future incorporation into the AP Process
Perform analysis for the leaders of the Management team
Respond timely and accurately to internal and external inquiries (Roche colleagues and Vendors/Suppliers).
Set up/maintain documentation for Accounts Payable Processes
Provide supporting documentation for audit processes
Requirements/Characteristics:
2 or 3 years minimum of accounts payable experience is required
University degree or advanced student (last year of the current career) in the following areas: accounting, business administration, economics, and related fields of study.
Intermediate English level and Portuguese desirable
SAP ERP large experience is required
Willingness to travel as there are some business trips required
Full cycle of Accounts Payable experience
Must be hands-on, organized, detail-oriented, teamwork, analytical skills, accurate, and have strong multi-tasking skills
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact professionally with internal and external customers, with great customer service.
Proficiency in MS Office with working knowledge of Excel
Ability to work within a team to achieve the team’s specific and overall goals
General accounting knowledge is desirable
