ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)
IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion, not including vast land holdings, IRC is responsible for corporate investment, land management, and a broad range of social, cultural, and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery, manufacturing, property management, transportation, and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry.

Combining local government and service delivery, community development, investment, and operating business divisions, all managed by a single back office, the organization has an array of complexities for the executive staff to navigate. JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Major Projects, the Manager, Housing jointly holds accountability for leading comprehensive housing initiatives within the ISR. Two Managers share responsibility for managing three key components—Elders Repair Programs, Community Liaison, and New Housing Construction. These roles significantly contribute to enhancing housing conditions, ensuring community engagement, and advancing sustainable development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
3 or more years of related experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Construction, Urban Planning, Housing Studies, Business, etc.)
Project management education or certification.
Experience working in the North.

Policy Knowledge and Application: Possesses comprehensive knowledge of relevant government policies, regulations, laws, agreements, and funding programs related to housing in the Northwest Territories. Demonstrates the ability to apply this understanding to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, interpret policies for informed decision-making, ensure organizational compliance, and contribute to effective governance and organizational practices, facilitating the development of impactful and compliant housing programs.
Relationship Building and Leadership: Understands the importance of effective working relationships both internally and externally, establishing and maintaining relationships at a leadership level within a team environment, and facilitating collaboration for a cooperative and productive work environment.
Adaptability and Self-Motivation: Demonstrates the ability to be self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to changes in work processes, adapting to continuous process improvement and embracing change for organizational growth, navigating dynamic work environments to contribute to organizational agility and resilience.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Hours: Typically operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility to accommodate emergency repairs, project demands and community engagements.
Work Environment: Primarily office-based, with the role involves extended periods of desk work, requiring focused attention during the workday. Additionally, the position requires occasional outdoor activities including fieldwork and site inspections requiring adaptability to varying environmental conditions and travel to remote or construction sites.
Travel Requirements: Involves regular travel throughout the Inuvialuit Settlement Region to facilitate community engagement, project site visits, and coordination with diverse stakeholders. Occasional travel to southern locations may be necessary to facilitate collaboration, attend meetings, or engage with partners and contractors based outside the region.
